How to Size Press-On Nails: An Easy Measuring Guide
For the most accurate fit, measure all ten natural nails separately. Your left and right hands might not have exactly the same measurements.
Measure the widest curved part of each natural nail in millimeters.
Method 1: Use a Soft Measuring Tape

Place a flexible measuring tape across the widest part of your natural nail.

Follow the natural curve from one sidewall to the other.

Record the measurement in millimeters.

Repeat for all ten nails.
Do not press the tape tightly into the skin, as this may produce a measurement that is too small.
Method 2: Use a Strip of Paper
If you do not have a soft measuring tape:

Cut a narrow strip of paper.

Place it across the widest part of your natural nail.

Mark where the paper meets each sidewall.

Lay the paper flat against a ruler.

Record the distance between the two marks in millimeters.
Repeat the process for every nail on both hands.

Compare the measurements from each hand with the chart. Choose the standard size that most closely matches your natural nails.
What If You Are Between Sizes?
If one or more nails fall between two sizes, choose the larger size.
A press-on nail that is slightly too wide can usually be gently filed along the side edges for a more precise fit. A nail that is too small may press against the natural nail, leave the sidewalls exposed, or lift more easily.
File gradually and check the fit frequently. Avoid removing too much material at once.
How Should a Press-On Nail Fit?
A correctly fitted press-on nail should:

Because the two hands may differ slightly, recording every finger produces a more reliable fit than measuring only one hand.
